Health Department Official Answers Beverage Tax Questions

The issue is taxation of “sugary beverages”, in other words, Coke, Pepsi, soda, fruit juices. Senator Slom asks a State Health Dept. official about the proposed tax. There are at least 3 bills in the legislature to implement a new tax on soft drinks in addition to what businesses have to pay on top of the GET and bottle tax.
