Starting a business from scratch, Joe built a transportation, apparel, and real estate business employing 363. Joe’s business include car franchises for Chevrolet, Mazda, and Audi; car franchises for Maserati, Lotus, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bentley; and Motorcycle franchises for Kawasaki, Vespa, Aprilia, and Harley-Davidson.
Joe was a pioneer in sustainable design. In 1999, he became the first new car andmotorcycle dealer in the United States that incorporated sustainable design in its dealerships.
Creative employee benefits include giving away a new car to employees with 25 years of service, a second (2nd) at 35 years, and a 100% company funded Pension/Profit Sharing Plan. He has given away 14 new cars to date.

Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts
Win opened the first franchise of Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream and Desserts in Kahala Mall. During this time he began his journey of service by volunteering on the boards of the Kahala Business Association and the Kahala Mall Merchants Association and by joining the Navy League of the United States and Rotary International where he served as the fourth president of the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunset.
After five years of operations in Kahala Win moved his Bubbies Ice Cream store to Koko Marina Shopping Center. Now, having fully integrated Rotary’s Service Above Self motto into his business plans, he continued his work in Rotary and the Navy League while adding board membership with Winners at Work, joining the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce, serving as Kamiloiki Elementary School’s School Community Council Chair (for 6 years) and most recently on the board of the Independence Day At Maunalua Bay Fourth of July celebration.
Most satisfying has been the privilege of working with local schools and community leaders to develop education improvement processes. In addition to working at the school level, he regularly attends conferences, lectures, presentations and testifies before the legislature on education matters. Whether hosting a fund raising event, participating in a community activity or making a donation; Win uses his business as a tool to serve the community; donating time, treasure and talent.

Tyler Roukema
Outback Steakhouse, Hawaii Kai
Tyler Roukema is the owner of the Outback Steak Steakhouse in Hawaii Kai. He started with Outback Steakhouse in 1988 as a bus boy and dish washer. Throughout the years Tyler has been promoted to every position that Outback Steakhouse has to offer and in 2008 he was given the opportunity to call the Outback Steakhouse in Hawaii Kai his own. He has an amazing wife of five years as well as two beautiful daughters. Tyler and his family live in the Hawaii Kai community. It is very important to him to be able to live and give back to the community that supports his business. Tyler is very passionate about what he does and lives his life by the simple philosophy of - if you love what you do, then you will never have to work a day in your life.

Jim Dooley joined the Hawaii Reporter staff as an investigative reporter in October 2010. He has worked as a print and television reporter in Hawaii since 1973, beginning as a wire service reporter with United Press International. He joined Honolulu Advertiser in 1974, working as general assignment and City Hall reporter until 1978. In 1978, he moved to full-time investigative reporting in for The Advertiser; he joined KITV news in 1996 as investigative reporter.
